    For the best chatting experiences, we are recommending to use mIRC as it has a much wider range of
    features (allowing you to send and receive files, for example).

    *** how to join us via mIRC:

    1. Download the software from www.mirc.com if you don't already have it.

    2. Setup: Click the "add" button and enter a description (#esc) and the server (irc.ham.de.euirc.net) - if you are finished, click "add" once again.



    3. Connect: Now - if "#esc" is selected as channel - click on "connect to IRC server".

    4. Join: If you get a popup window as in the image below, you can add the room "#esc" and then double-click on it or click on the "Join" button.



    If you do not get this popup window, type and press enter on your keyboard.

    Note:
    If there is hardly any talk or no talk at all going on, try at another time.
    The evening and midnight hours are usually the times with the highest amount of visitors.
    On contrary, if it's too full for you, you might want to try the chat in a more
    quiet hour. Then you as a newbie might also get more attention.
